How do I know ASIS received my application?
Please do not call. We will formally acknowledge receipt of your application either in writing or via electronic acknowledgement (for online applications).
Am I able to have feedback for my unsuccessful application?Due to the number of applications received and important national security considerations we do not provide feedback.
When is the next recruitment intake and how will I know?We conduct three major Intelligence Officer recruitment campaigns each year (February, June and September) which are typically advertised broadly in the national press. However, we accept Intelligence Officer applications all year round. Other positions with ASIS are advertised on an as-required basis.
How long will the selection process take? The selection process incorporates extensive security and background checking which can take some time, depending on the individual and their personal history. As a rough guide, Intelligence Officer applications generally take around seven months from the date of application to the offer of employment, with the applications for Operation Officers, Technical Officers and Corporate Service Professions taking between three and six months.
