

As a Technical Officer, you will use technology to provide critical support to our operations overseas. You will participate in overseas operations, supporting the unique equipment used by ASIS and developing new technical systems. We require talented people who can demonstrate achievement in their field of technological expertise and can apply their knowledge to the technical challenges faced by ASIS.
The technologies we work with are wide-ranging. You may be given the opportunity to specialise in areas like digital and satellite communications and RF technology, along with various aspects of modern computer technology.
Technical Officers who focus on support and development are based in Australia. They undertake research and development on new systems that allow us to enhance our intelligence collection function. The duties can range from creating completely new tools and platforms, to finding new uses for existing (or ‘off-the-shelf’) technologies. You will need to have expertise in, and a passion for, working on leading-edge technologies.
Other Technical Officers have the opportunity to travel overseas. To do so, you will be required to apply for, and successfully complete, a rigorous training course, and demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills, independence, resilience, integrity and initiative to deal with challenging situations overseas.
