The Minister for Foreign Affairs is responsible for ASIS, and we are also subject to oversight from the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security. Our financial accounts are audited by the Australian National Audit Office and we are subject to review by the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security. ASIS’s functions are fully outlined in the Intelligence Services Act 2001.
